Rogue Cow Caught on Video Blocking Illinois Highway
You don't want to be in between a cow and the place where a determined cow wants to be. Don't ask me how I know. That point was proven yet again in Illinois as a heifer went rogue and had to be chased down by police officers and cowboys.
The Williamson County Sheriffs Office shared a wild video of what went down (literally) a highway in Illinois on Thursday, August 14, 2025. It's self-explanatory and titled "Roundup on the Overpass". The cow apparently made a break for it when his farmer friend was parked at a gas station and he found a way out of the stockade.
Watch the video closely as the cow is hard to see at first as it's rather small running first down the left side of the highway then crossing to the right.
Here's a freezeframe of the key cow meets cowboy and police moment.
The police description said it best:
"Working together, WCSO, JCPD, and local cattlemen coordinated efforts to keep the cow away from the interstate and safely contained. With a little teamwork, and a well-placed lasso, the cow was captured. Teamwork isn’t just for catching criminals; sometimes it’s for catching cows!"
Yee haw.
