If you're driving around the QC this weekend, you might run into some delays.

If you're doing a mini-road trip this weekend, you already know you'll more than likely run into some construction-related delays (Brady, 53rd, Locust, we could go on and on). If you're planning on coming back on Monday, there's one event that might slow you down.

Bettendorf police issued a Traffic Alert for Monday, specifically for the area around the TBK Bank Sports Complex. This is because the Quad Cities Running Festival will be going on on Monday, beginning at 7:00 a.m. and is going to use part of Forest Grove Drive for a while.

The release from Bettendorf Police says that on Forest Grove Drive from Devils Glen Road to Friendship Path, east and west traffic will be alternating. You're advised to expect some short delays during the run and officers and volunteers will be in the area directing traffic. As for the event, the running festival supports Live Fit With Lupus.

Be Patient With Memorial Day Travel

Bettendorf police advise you to be careful and patient when you're in the area. Really you'll need to be patient anywhere you travel this Memorial Day weekend since it looks like it'll be a particularly huge travel weekend in the U.S. According to the AAA, 42.3 million Americans are expected to travel over Memorial Day weekend. Experts think that numbers will surpass pre-pandemic levels so apparently we're all still itching to travel after the hot mess that was 2020.
