Costcos In Illinois Roll Out 2 New Membership Options

Attention all Kirkland brand lovers.

Costco, the land of beloved hot dogs and rotisserie chickens, wholesale pallets of seemingly everything, and Kirkland brand favorites (even the Kirkland-brand alcohol). As we know, Costco memberships come in tiers: Gold Star and Executive.

Real Simple reports that Costco is rolling out 2 new VIP features for Executive Members.

There will be some new VIP-only shopping perks, and also a $10 monthly credit each month if you skip the store and use same-day delivery like Instacart or Costco's own same-day delivery service.

Executive Members will now be able to use special early-bird shopping hours, allowing them to get inside the store right at 9:00 a.m. every day to help them beat the crowds and long lines at checkout. Normally, Costco opens at 10:00 a.m. Monday-Friday and on Sunday, opening at 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays.

Another perk is saving on same-day delivery, like we talked about. Costco says that the $10 monthly credit you can get for using same-day delivery applies to one same-day order per month that's $150 or over.

Costco still offers it's Executive Members a 2% annual reward. Real Simple figured out that if you shop Costco a lot, you'd need to spend $3,250 a year to break even on the cost for the Executive Membership.

Meanwhile, if you're ready to go, you won't have to wait long for Costco's new perks to go into place. According to an Instagram post from the company, Costco's new early shopping hours for Executive Members start on June 30th, 2025.
