Over the next few weeks, Davenport residents can get to know local police officers.

The Davenport Police Department has announced a series of dates for their Coffee With A Cop events.

Coffee With A Cop is a national program that lets citizens chat with officers and get to know them, ask questions, and voice concerns, according to the City of Davenport's website. And of course, have the (honestly necessary) morning cup of coffee. It's intended to help break down barriers between officers and the communities they serve.

Sergeant Andrew Harris, Community Impact Team Supervisor for Davenport Police, said in a release on the city's website:

We want our officers to connect with the residents in our community. It’s about having conversations and interacting with our neighbors in meaningful ways, outside of a call for service. We want to have a chance to talk about topics that they find interesting or have questions about.
