Eastern Iowa Downtown Hosting Community Tree Lighting
Christmas festivities are starting in Downtown Davenport!
There will be no shortage of festive events in downtown Davenport this weekend. This Saturday, the Festival of Trees parade will be at 10:00 a.m. all through downtown Davenport. And it's free.
It kicks off the 40th Festival of Trees event in the Rivercenter, which will feature over 75 beautifully decorated trees, including this year's new attractions: Quilt Village, the Petite Forest, and Culture Bright Lane.
But before those festivities, the 5th annual K-Square community tree lighting will be in downtown Davenport on Friday, November 21st.
It will be at 6:00 p.m. The City of Davenport shared a video of crews fluffing the branches of the tree:
Hot cocoa and cookies will be available too.
The community tree is in Kaiserslautern Square, which is located at 119 East Third Street.
All The Festivities
Besides the Festival of Trees parade and opening, this Saturday (Nov. 22), will also have plenty of cookies. Downtown Davenport will also host the Cookie Crawl from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. It will feature sample cookies, free hot chocolate, and free family activities!
Meanwhile, on the saltier side, downtown Davenport's Holiday Pickle Hunt is back for another year too. The German tradition will be starting Nov. 20th and going through January 1st. In the same timeframe, the Deck the Downtowns competition will be going on in downtown Davenport.
Plus there are more ice skating times available for you this weekend and next at The River's Edge.
It's safe to say if you're bored this weekend around here, that's on you!
