
Dubuque Man Accused Of Stealing Over $2,000 In Comic Books
The Iowa City Police Department has arrested a Dubuque man who has allegedly stolen a couple of thousand dollars worth of collectible comic books from an Iowa City collectible shop.
A criminal complaint first came in around 4:40pm on March 19th of last year, when Bartertown Toys and Collectibles reported that a man walked into the store and walked out with seven comic books totalling $2,100.
The store shared a photo to social media after it happened, saying the books stolen were seven graded and autographed Lady Death comic books.
He was identified by the Dubuque County Jail as well as the surveillance footage from the store as 32-year-old Dakota Goarcke. According to police, he left the store in a vehicle that was rented in his mother's name.
He was booked this past week on a second-degree theft charge.
