A man in Evansville, Indiana is spending some time in jail after deputies say he tried stealing from a hardware store.

Just before noon on Saturday, police say they were called to the Ace Hardware Store on Pollack Avenue to investigate a theft that had happened.

Dispatchers told police that the caller stated that a man was stuffing power tools down the front of his pants, and was getting ready to leave the store.

When deputies arrived, they stopped 41-year-old Joseph Courbat as he was leaving the store, and immediately noticed that there was a large... bulge at the front of his pants, and they knew it was too big to be Joseph.

They searched him, and sure enough, pulled a whole Milwaukee M18 1.25″ Router out of his pants.

Courbat told deputies he was just going back to pay for the router, but after they obviously didn't believe that, he admitted he was going to steal the router, sell it, and pay his overdue light bill.

41-year-old Joseph Courbat was arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail without bond. He's been charged with Organized Retail Theft, All Other Larceny, Failure to Appear, and Other Agencies Charges.
