It can be frustrating when you go out to eat and what you ordered isn't correct - especially when you're in the drive-thru, because now you have to go inside and get it sorted out, completely defeating the point of using the drive-thru. However frustrating, it doesn't justify a beatdown with a baseball bat.

Police in Charleston, South Carolina are investigating a robbery and assault that happened at a Wendy's drive-thru Sunday night on James Island.

According to the Charleston Police Department, officers responded to Wendy's on Folly Road at 11:53pm, in reference to a reported robbery. Initial 911 calls stated there was vandalism and assault with a baseball bat.

Upon arrival, CPD observed broken glass and scattered glass around the drive-thru window.

Witnesses at the scene said there was a situation with an incorrect drive-thru order that escalated into a physical altercation between the employees and a customer.

The incident reports state that while employees worked to issue a refund for the order when the male and female customers began yelling at the employees.

That's when the male suspect then exited his vehicle and punched the drive-thru window. When that wasn't enough for him, he grabbed a baseball bat from the vehicle and began hitting the window and employees.

Video footage captured by an unrelated customer said the female suspect also joined in, swinging an object believed to be a broom through the window.

Reports state that at some point during the altercation, the female suspect took money from the cash register.

Restaurant surveillance, witness video footage, and testimonies provided vehicle details that led to the arrest of 27-year-old Aaron Michael Lewis.

Lewis is being held at Charleston County Detention Center on burglary (violent) second-degree, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, assault and battery first-degree, and assault/battery of a high and aggravated nature.
