Washington DoorDash Driver Returns to Customer’s Home with Loaded Gun After No Tip
A Washington family was left shaken after a food delivery dispute escalated into a dangerous confrontation involving a gun. Police say 59-year-old Robert Delehant, a DoorDash driver, returned to a customer’s home with a loaded weapon, angry over not receiving a cash tip the night before.
Delivery Dispute Turns Violent
According to investigators, Delehant arrived at the Vancouver residence of 19-year-old Kianna Korenkov last Thursday morning, loudly demanding the tip he believed he was owed for a $100 food order. Korenkov told police the man was aggressive and refused to leave when asked.
Things escalated when Korenkov’s father, 55-year-old Anthony Volino, stepped in. The two men got into a physical struggle after Delehant allegedly reached for a holstered Ruger firearm on his hip. Volino told police he managed to disarm the driver, noting that he smelled alcohol on Delehant’s breath and feared what might happen next.
Driver Admits to Drinking Before Confrontation
After leaving the scene in his Kia Soul, Delehant called 911, telling dispatchers he felt “cheated” out of a tip and had been pushed during the confrontation. He admitted to drinking at home before returning to the residence and later told police, “I shouldn’t have come back.” Officers noted his blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.
Delehant claimed he only lifted his shirt to reveal the weapon after being confronted, but home surveillance footage reportedly captured the two men wrestling over the gun, which Volino eventually gained control of.
Prior Conviction and New Charges Filed
Delehant is now facing multiple charges, including assault, harassment, and driving under the influence. Court records show this is not his first offense—he has a prior DUI conviction on record. He is currently awaiting further legal proceedings as the case continues to unfold.
The incident has sparked concerns about safety for both customers and delivery drivers, highlighting the risks of confrontations that go far beyond a missing tip.
