Illinois Residents: Don’t Quit Your Job For This Facebook Settlement
If you thought you were getting a huge $725 million payout from the Facebook Settlement, please reconsider your resignation at work.
After Facebook allegedly shared our information with third-party sources, like advertisers and data brokers, there were tons of lawsuits filed against them from users, which ultimately led to this $725 million settlement.

Sounds like we're all about to be ballin' once we all get paid, right?

Illinois Residents: Don't Quit Your Job For This Facebook Settlement
Here's why you shouldn't quit your job for the payout you're about to get: it's not the kind of payout you're hoping for. Sorry to say... you'll probably only see about $38... not even.
"Facebook users are receiving a portion of the $725 million after administrative costs and lawyers' fees are paid out. The payments are based on how many people filed claims, as well as how long each claimant was using Facebook during the 15-year period covered by the settlement." [cbs news]
Between May 24th, 2007 and December 22nd, 2022, how many years did you have Facebook? If you say the entire time, well, you're looking at the higher payout! If you said 15 years, then expect to see the maximum payment of $38.36. The rest of us? $29.34.

If you don't remember filing a claim, you should've received an email from the Settlement within the next 10 weeks. Plus, check your Venmo, PayPal, or direct deposit because they might've already paid you! I've been checking all week and all I got was the email saying I'll see my money soon... just not soon enough.
So, please. Don't think you're getting thousands of dollars. We all wish we were, though!
