They are the drunkest fans in baseball.

That's the only thing the Sox will be in first place this season, too. As a Cubs fan, I'm allowed to poke fun.

White Sox Fans Are #1 (In Boozing, Not Baseball)

After years of hearing other teams' fans make fun of the Cubs and Wrigley Field, calling it the World's Largest Beer Garden, it's hilarious to see the shoe on the other foot for once.

Just like baseball, the numbers don't lie. White Sox fans consume 4.2 boozy beverages per game, the highest in baseball.

How Other Teams Stack Up

Atlanta Braves fans are close behind, with 4.0 drinks per game. Milwaukee Brewers fans tie one on, too, sharing the 8th most drinks spot with the Washington Nationals, Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, and New York Mets.

A Friendly North Side Reminder

If you're wondering, Cubs fans are tied for 13th with Arizona Diamondbacks fans at 3.4 drinks per game.

The truth is, the number would probably be higher, but beer and other mixed drinks are ridiculously expensive, so that might have something to do with it.

The White Sox may have bottomed out in the standings, but at least their fans stayed on top of the drink count. I mean, sometimes that's the only stat that matters.
