I saw the news just yesterday that the vest worn by Matthew Broderick in Ferris Bueller's Day Off is going up for auction. It's funny because even as a kid, I thought it looked cool, and now, all these years later, it's beyond "cool" as it is expected to go for a super cool half million once all is said and done.

Why This Movie Prop Is So Valuable
Darren Rovell, an Emmy-winning sports and money contributor and apparent movie memorabilia collector, is putting the vest up for sale, saying per NBC 5 in Chicago:

Save Ferris, and Maybe This Vest
The vest's pre-sale estimates range from $300K to $600K. The vest will be accompanied on the auction block by a "Save Ferris" keychain, a Ferrari Hot Wheels toy car, a ticket stub from the Cubs game Ferris and friends attended, and a baseball prop from the set.
Expect the whole thing to go up for auction at Sotheby's by the end of the month.
