I’ve never lived in a neighborhood with a homeowners association (HOA), but I’ve always heard some pretty terrible stories. From neighbors getting fined for things like the color of their curtains to being told what kind of plants they can grow in their own yard, it all just sounds a bit too controlling for my taste. Recently, I came across a list highlighting some of the most outrageous and unreasonable actions taken by HOAs across the country—and honestly, it only made my opinion worse. I already didn’t like the idea of an HOA, but after seeing just how far some of them are willing to go, I think I dislike them even more.
