Chris Young has landed his eighth No. 1 hit. The country star's latest single, "Think of You," reached the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart this week, marking the fastest chart run of the singer's career.

Nashville's Tennessean newspaper reports that the song hit No. 1 exactly 10 years to the day after Young won the reality singing competition Nashville Star and signed his recording deal with Sony Music Nashville. The song peaked just 15 weeks after first entering the chart.

“I remember having 15-week songs that didn’t break the Top 40,” Young says. “It’s just incredibly fast. It’s a really, really cool feeling.”

"Think of You" is a duet with The Voice Season 3 champion Cassadee Pope, which marks her first-ever No. 1 hit. Young co-wrote the song with Corey Crowder and Josh Hoge, with whom he also wrote his other recent No. 1 hit, "I'm Comin' Over," the title song of his current album. Crowder also co-produced the song and the album, and he says the recording session for "Think of You" was truly special.

“When Cassadee hits this note on the bridge, it’s like a C#, which for a singer, that’s kinda freakish, and when she hit it, it was kinda her own little embellishment that she’d done that wasn’t on the demo, and Chris and I were losing our minds in the control room, like, ‘No way she just hit that!'” Crowder tells Taste of Country with a laugh.

“And I told Chris, ‘I’m gonna ask her to do that again, and I guarantee you she won’t hit that again.’ And I had her do it three more times, and she hit it the exact same way every time. Me and Chris were freaking out. It was the most hilarious, dorkiest musical moment. It was just a really fun day. I think that energy shows up in the track, and it was just kind of a memorable day for me making a record.”

Young has also extended his I'm Comin' Over Tour through December. His support acts for the arena headlining tour include Pope, Dan+Shay and Dustin Lynch.

“I’ve been trying to grow where I’m at and the level of show that I’m giving to people,” Young says. “There seems to be a lot of stuff cooking in a lot of really good ways right now. I think it’s telling being able to take such a strong line-up out as well. I think we’re offering people a really, really cool show.”
