We here at Townsquare media get messages about things going on in the QC whenever something bad, funny, or really when anything happens. Mostly because they want us to talk about it. The bridge striking again is a combination of both the bad and the funny.

Now we always want to be on top of what's going on, especially when it's right down the road. As I walked up to get a picture (across the road) Someone yelled over,

"Hey! Keep it moving buddy!"

They were clearly upset, which I understand seeing the situation. Needless to say, this dumb radio host (me) just awkwardly walked away as an officer reiterated the sentiment of "move along" and don't lollygag. Still here are the shots I got...

It looks like they actually made it through the bridge without getting stuck... sadly they sacrificed the top to do it.

We Need To Raise Awareness

I'll say it again... we should have a holiday and festival about the bridges to raise more awareness. You can learn more about that idea here.

The Reasons to "Celebrate"

  • Bring more awareness to how low this bridge is and maybe be able to make more outsiders driving in the area aware of its danger.
  • We get to party, and downtown businesses get more traffic.
  • I have never seen a truck get eaten before and I'd like to see it in a controlled environment... so yes we would sacrifice a truck to the bridge for the festival.

*Bonus* We can decorate the bridge.

In all seriousness, the bridge is very infamous, and I believe many local residents would get behind this idea for a special bridge day or festival. Let's take a look at some of the recent bridge attacks.
