Singer songwriter, Eddie Money, passed away this morning at age 70. A tireless touring performer, and a great ambassador for rock and roll, Money lost his fight with cancer.

A statement provided by his family reads: “The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.”

Eddie Money, hits include "Baby Hold On," "Two Tickets to Paradise," "Shakin'" and duet with Ronnie Spector, "Take Me Home Tonight" provided a large part of the soundtrack of the '80s.

A reality television series about Money and his family, Real Money, had debuted on AXS TV in April. The show chronicled Money's home life and revealed his health struggles.
