Help Quad Cities Students Get Stocked With Supplies

The beginning of a new school year is only weeks away.

This year, thousands of Quad Cities children will not have the school supplies needed to start school. The United Way is doing what it can to help, with your help.

You can help in two ways:

Drop off school supplies between 11am and 4pm this Sunday, July 22 at the Hy-Vee on Devil's Glen in Bettendorf, or...

Donate to the purchase of school supplies at unitedwayqc.org/pencils, or text PENCILS to 41444.

I read a quote recently that said when your table is full, you should set more chairs. This is a great way to set more chairs at the table of a good education for Quad Cities students, while alleviating the load on teachers, who often spend a great deal of their own salaries supplying kids in their classrooms.
