Help Your Fave QC Charity With JDC’s Birdies for Charity
If your sports prediction confidence took a hit from March Madness, you have your chance to try again on the PGA Tour, this time benefiting Quad City charities.
Birdies for Charity (part of the upcoming John Deere Classic) kicked off its fundraising drive yesterday. Charities can submit applications to be a part of the event (deadline for that is May 14) and if you want to donate, you can choose a charity to donate to. There are already 450 charities partnering with the Classic so there's a good likelihood one that you like is already involved.
If you want to donate to Birdies for Charity, you can submit a guess on the total number of birdies that pros on the PGA Tour make during the Pro-Am and during the Tournament playoffs.
Even if you're like me and you have some of the worst luck in the history of mankind, you can still help out a local charity of your choice! You don't even have to make a donation to become eligible to win a prize. Last year, Birdies for Charity brought in $12.6 million. Win the grand prize and you could be driving around in a Lexus for 2 years.
You'll of course have time to formulate your pledges and guesses, those will be due on June 10. For the full list of rules, visit the Birdies for Charity website.
The John Deere Classic will be from June 27-July 3. If you want tickets for the tournament, you can get them at this link.
