HP Recalls Laptop Batteries Because Of Overheatings
If you own an HP, Compaq, HP ProBook, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario, and/or HP Pavilion notebook computer built between March 2013 and October 2016, your battery has been recalled.
HP has received reports of batteries overheating and causing a fire.
Batteries with barcodes starting with the following number/letter combos fall under the recall notice: 6BZLU, 6CGFK, 6CGFQ, 6CZMB, 6DEMA, 6DEMH, 6DGAL and 6EBVA.
HP advises users to remove the batteries and return them to HP for replacements. Owners can continue to use the computer plugged into an AC outlet.
