Hy-Vee will donate $100,000 to assist the families that have been impacted by the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

The company announced today (Friday) that they will be donating the money to the victims' families and others who were impacted by the tragedy at Robb Elementary School, which left 19 students and 2 adults dead.

Hy-Vee donated the money to the Spirit of Giving Fund, which is a nonprofit established by H-E-B, a Texas retailer, that gives financial support to those impacted by natural disasters and other tragedies.

In the release from Hy-Vee, Randy Edeker, chairman and CEO, said:

Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the Uvalde community. When discussing how we could best support those affected, we knew our friends at H-E-B were already on the ground helping families. Through their Spirit of Giving Fund, we know our donation will go toward providing meals, supplies, crisis counselors, financial assistance to families and other community efforts. We also know others want to help during this time, so that’s why we believe it’s important to bring awareness to this Fund.

H-E-B established the fund to help after Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and it also helped after the church shooting tragedy in Sutherland Springs, Texas that same year. If you would like to donate to the Spirit of Giving Fund, here's the link to make up to a $250 donation. If you would like to donate more than that, you're asked to mail a check to this address:

Spirit of Giving Fund, 646 South Flores St., San Antonio, TX 78204.
