Iowa Nonprofit Gets Eastern Iowa Students On Stage
A nonprofit known as 'Yesandia' has been doing local shows for the last few years and has seen significant growth over the past year. They now have a local showcase kicking off this month on March 29th.
Yesandia just wrapped up a show in December with local students and adult performers as well. This show was sold out in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
About Yesandia
Yesandia Improv believes that students belong on stage and that improv skills are life skills. You can see more and donate on their website.
Yesandia Improv is passionate about providing students with an outlet for communication, listening, and public speaking skills through performance and practice.
Any student in Iowa is always welcome to share the stage with this nonprofit. You can apply and learn more here. Their values are as follows,
Communication: helping students discover their own voice by providing them with a safe environment for exploring.
Listening: encouraging students to listen to each other in order to tell better stories and dig deeper into their own story to find their truth.
Public Speaking: consistently giving students access to platforms that put them in front of an audience will position them to become more comfortable in front of anyone.
Don't miss this show on March 29th at 3PM at Mirrorbox Theater. You can also start your own improv group at your school with the help of Yesandia here.
