Some construction work on Tuesday will mean lane closures on the Rock Island Arsenal bridge.

I deeply loathe crossing the Arsenal bridge because it feels so shaky but on Tuesday, the bridge will be down to single-lane traffic, according to the Rock Island Arsenal.

Track repairs are the reason for the closure. The Iowa Interstate Railroad will be doing the work and the lane closure will be in effect from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday so if you're heading to work or you need to cross the bridge, you might want to go down to 74 or take a different route.

You should be able to navigate the closures okay, you'll see flaggers during the repair to help guide you on where to go. Currently, Tuesday is the only day for the closure this week and it only impacts car traffic.

I've lived in the QC for a year and I've just never gotten comfy with the arsenal bridge and sitting on the Davenport end of it for 30 minutes while the swing was open (while my car was dying) was definitely the opposite of fun.

Is it really the Quad Cities if there's not road construction somewhere? You can stay up to date with the latest road/lane closures you might encounter in Davenport on the city's website. For Illinois, you can see road closures that might pop up on your route here, and for Iowa, it's at this link.

You can keep up with the latest from the arsenal bridge, including any lane closures, on their Facebook page.
