This Iowa Town Was Named One Of The Best Places To Live In The Midwest
One Iowa town got the distinction of being one of the "Top 25 Best Places to Live in the Midwest".
I've heard plenty of complaints about Iowa and the Midwest since I moved up here, ranging from there being nothing to do (a phenomenon I haven't experienced here) or just a lot of "trashy" towns (they're in every state). But "Iowa Nice" is definitely a thing and it could be that very reason that landed one Iowa town on Livability's "Top 25 Best Places to Live in the Midwest".
You may not think of the Midwest as a particularly desirable place to live but Livability thinks that one Iowa town definitely is, on a list that includes towns in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, Indiana, Nebraska, Michigan, South Dakota, and Ohio. Really spans the Midwest there.
Livability looked at stats divided into the categories of: amenities, economy, demographics, housing, social & civic capital, education, health care, transportation & infrastructure, and remote readiness.
Iowa's "Best Place" To Live
The Iowa town that landed on Livability's list is none other than Iowa City.
The home of the Hawkeyes. Livability noted it's unique restaurants, art scene, breweries, boutiques, and museums. It also mentions all of the outlets where residents can get involved in the community and the medical care offerings (Mercy Iowa City & University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics). And finally, it praises all of the parks and opportunities for outdoor pursuits in the area.
We knew it's a great state but we love to see Iowa on the list!
