Two Exciting Shows Coming To Two Venues In Eastern Iowa

Two exciting shows were announced on Tuesday that will be coming to the biggest city in Eastern Iowa. One show will get you into the holiday theme while the other will kick off your new year with hits you know and love.

Lindsey Stirling, an electronic violinist, dancer, and artist, will be coming to the Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids this December. A show that is dedicated to the icon Cher that's titled "The Beat Goes On" will be at the Paramount Theatre in January.

Lindsey Stirling Coming To Cedar Rapids

On Tuesday, electronic violinist, dancer, and artist Lindsey Stirling announced her North American Snow Waltz 2023 tour. Her tour will include a performance at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse on December 2nd, 2023.

Stirling’s unique interpretation of beautifully nostalgic holiday music will be more dynamic than ever. Consequence says,

“...the violinist has become a fixture of Christmastime concerts with her combination of cutting-edge performances that include dance, trapeze, lyra, and aerial work along with her signature genre-bending, amped-up orchestrations.”

The Beat Goes On Coming To Cedar Rapids

Also announed on Tuesday, “Cher- the Beat Goes On” will be coming to the Paramount Theatre on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

The international touring show, “The Beat Goes On” features American singer/actress Lisa McClowry's portrayal of the Goddess of Pop in her one-woman Broadway-style live stage show. Lisa is completely convincing as CHER with every aspect of playing Cher down pat including her singing and speaking voice, the walk, the talk, the costumes, the makeup, and the mannerisms. In addition, the show incorporates a live band, video, multiple costume changes, dynamic dialogue, humor, and fun audience participation.

You can expect to hear Cher’s hits spanning from the 60’s to now including: I Got You Babe, Gypsies Tramps and Thieves, I Found Someone, If I Could Turn Back Time, songs from ABBA - from Cher’s Dancing Queen album, Woman’s World, Welcome to Burlesque, Believe and so much more.
