Ever thought about what you would call a Moline festival? Now is your time to shine.

Moline's sesquicentennial celebration was last year and now the city wants to make the downtown festival an annual thing. But it can't be Moline 150, obviously, because that referred to the birthday number of the year.

Where You Come In

According to the city of Moline, the festival will focus on music and the arts. It will be an annual thing in downtown Moline. So get those noggins thinking. City leaders will pick the best one out of all the submissions.

The person who comes up with a winning name will get a VIP package to the festival for this year. To get your creative juices flowing, here are a few of the Facebook suggestions commented on the city's post:

  • Riverfest
  • Harvest Fest
  • Moline's Annual Music & Arts Festival (MAMA Fest)
  • Motown Fest

Ready To Go?

If you have a name in mind for the festival and want to submit it you can do so on the city's website here. There isn't a deadline listed but you probably want to go ahead and get it done sooner rather than later.

This isn't the first time that Moline has crowdsourced names for stuff. We can't forget the golden names that QCA residents came up with for Moline's snowplows. Serving Moline this winter, the snowplows include:

  • Fast and Flurryous
  • Plower Ranger
  • Darth Blader
  • Buzz Iceclear
  • Lightning McClean
  • Big Le-Plow-Ski
  • Blizzard of Oz
  • Plow-cado on 5th
