Starting Her Last Order For The Day

The Story starts with the female DoorDasher receiving an offer to drive a little over 8 miles for $10.50. Normally, she wouldn't accept such an offer, but given it was towards the end of her dash and would bring her closer to home, she decided to go for it.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, she found the food wasn't ready yet, so she took a seat and started scrolling through Twitter. A message from the customer popped up, stating, "Just to let you know, I am a nudist and WILL be answering the door nude." The DoorDahser promptly responded, expressing her intent to cancel the delivery, "Okay, I will be canceling then."

She Then Called DoorDash Support To Explain Her Cancelation

After explaining the situation to the support agent and inquiring about unassigning without affecting her completion rate, the DoorDasher was informed that she could unassign herself in the app without calling support. However, she argued that certain circumstances warranted a worry-free unassign and partial pay, believing this incident qualified. "This incident shouldn't get me penalized," she said.

The agent disagreed, stating it wasn't a sufficient reason, and warned that unassigning would result in a lower completion rate and no compensation. Frustrated, she expressed her discomfort with delivering to a nude male stranger and accepting the consequences. The agent promptly unassigned the order and ended the call.

They basically told me that it wasn't a good enough reason and if I unassign, my completion rate will go down and I won't be paid anything. I was like "Alright, fine. If that's what needs to be done for me to not see a stranger's d*ck, then go ahead and punish me." and they just said "Great, I will unassign you! You should start getting offers again" and hung up.

Reflecting on the situation, the DoorDasher couldn't shake the feeling of injustice, questioning why she was penalized for not feeling comfortable delivering to someone who had explicitly stated they would be naked upon delivery. She wondered if her stance was unreasonable or if the policy should be reconsidered.

Is it just me or is it extremely f***ed up that you are punished for not being comfortable delivering food to someone you don't know who has told you they will be naked upon arrival? Am I crazy for thinking this should be a good enough reason to unassign from an order without decreasing your completion rate?

She fished her story with a message to nudists who use DoorDash.

If you are a nudist, good for you. I'm not here to yuck anyone's yum, I'm into some sh*t too. But if you're going to order delivery, at least have the courtesy to put on a robe or just select leave at my door. I don't want to see your entire c*ck and balls when I hand you your hamburger.
