Hockey Season Is Back in the Quad Cities — And Opening Night Has $1 Beers
Quad Cities, get ready to hear those skates hit the ice again because Storm hockey is officially back!
The Quad City Storm are getting ready to kick off their eighth season in the Quad Cities, and Opening Night is bringing some pretty big reasons to celebrate.
The Storm will take on the Peoria Rivermen on Saturday, October 17, at 7:10 p.m. at Vibrant Arena at The MARK. And for the first time ever, Opening Night will also be a $1 beer night.
Yep. One-dollar beers and hockey. That sounds like a pretty solid way to welcome the Storm back.

A New Season, A Bigger Schedule
This season is a little different for the Storm and the entire Southern Professional Hockey League. The SPHL is moving to a 60-game regular-season schedule, meaning Storm fans will have plenty of opportunities to catch their team on the ice.
The Storm will play 30 home games at Vibrant Arena during the 2026-27 season, including 13 Saturday games, 11 Friday games, two Sunday games, and games on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
The Quad City Storm joined the SPHL for the 2018-19 season, making this upcoming season the team's eighth season of hockey in the Quad Cities.

Familiar Faces Will Be Back at the Arena
Of course, the players aren't the only people Storm fans are excited to see again.
Some of the familiar faces that help make a Storm game feel like a Storm game will be back on the ice and around the arena this season.
That includes Goose, the voice of the Storm as the PA announcer, keeping the crowd informed and entertained throughout the night.
You'll also see Megan, the In-Game Host, back with the microphone, getting fans involved in the action, leading contests and helping keep the energy going between periods.
And you can't forget Radar! The Storm's lovable mascot will be back roaming the arena, causing some chaos, entertaining kids, and making sure fans get plenty of photo opportunities.
Because let's be honest, a Storm game just wouldn't feel quite the same without those familiar faces.
Opening Night Is Packed With Extras
The Storm are making the first game of the season a full-on celebration.
The first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive a 2026-27 Storm Schedule Magnet, so you'll have no excuse for forgetting when the Storm are playing at home this season.
Before the puck even drops, fans will also get a pregame laser light show to officially kick off the new season.
Then it's Storm vs. Rivermen.
So if you've been waiting all summer for hockey to come back to the Quad Cities, your countdown is officially on.
Saturday, October 17. 7:10 p.m. Storm vs. Peoria. $1 beers. Laser lights. Familiar faces. And the start of another season of Storm hockey. Get your tickets here.
