The directive was issued through the Illinois Department of Central Management Services and applies to all individuals and entities that are covered under the Illinois Flag Display Act.

A Statewide Moment of Reflection

National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day honors the 2,403 service members and civilians who were killed in the attack on December 7, 1941, which was a pivotal moment that led the U.S. into World War II.

By lowering flags, Illinois joins the rest of the country in paying tribute to those who lost their lives, as well as those who answered the call to defend the country in the conflict that followed.
