If you don't want to get pulled over by the police, then don't break the law.  Seems pretty simple.  However, there are laws that we don't think of very often cause it's rare to see them enforced.  While police might not enforce certain laws often, they can use them as an excuse to pull you over.

So while you love to tell the person behind you exactly how you feel with a well-placed sticker, that could be just the reason police in Wisconsin can pull you over.

The Wisconsin code on obstructed driving is a few pages long.  I know, shocking, right? A very long, complicated law to basically say if something on your car is blocking your view, it's illegal.

But to be specific the law states, "No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any sign, poster or other nontransparent material upon the front windshield, front side wings, side windows in the driver's compartment or rear window of such vehicle other than a certificate or other sticker issued by order of a governmental agency. Such permitted sticker shall not cover more than 15 square inches of glass surface and shall be placed in the lower left-hand corner of the windshield; the left corner being on the driver's left when seated behind the wheel."

So, other than your government stickers, you can't put your favorite team, politician, or TV show character on the window of your car.

If your windshield is covered like the above car, you might get pulled over just for that.  But if you have on carefully placed "G" in the lower corner of your window, more than likely a cop won't pull you over.  Unless they are a Bears fan.  However, it does give them an excuse to pull you over.  So if they suspect any sort of infraction, they can pull you over because of the obstructed view law, knowing they are looking for something else.

If that is all they find once the officer pulls you over and they actually give you a fine for it, it really isn't that much.  The fine for a sticker obstructing your view won't be less than $20 nor more than $40 for the first offense, increasing to not less than $50 nor more than $100 for a subsequent conviction within a year.

While it's not much, it doesn't seem like it's worth the hassle to tell the person following you what you think.  Of course, you can always just put the stickers on your bumper.  Not great for resale, but will get your point across to "Back off" to the person behind you.
