Kirk Ferentz Tests Positive for COVID-19

I guess it's a good thing Michigan canceled the game earlier this week.

University of Iowa football coach, Kirk Ferentz has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The team made the announcement earlier today. According to ESPN, the 65-year old coach tested positive Thursday during his daily antigen test. The result was confirmed by a PCR test.

Ferentz isn't apparently experiencing any symptoms and will isolate at home until Dec. 27.

Earlier this week Iowa's home game against Michigan this Saturday was canceled because of COVID-19 issues with team members of the Wolverines. Iowa will learn it's bowl game status this Sunday.

ESPN reports Ferentz was coughing throughout a radio interview on Thursday and the interview was cut short.

Other Big Ten coaches testing positive for the virus this season include Wisconsin's Paul Chryst, Purdue's Jeff Brohm, Mayland's Mike Locksley and Ohio State's Ryan Day.

Ferentz says he'll participate with team practices via ZOOM until he's cleared. Get healthy soon, Coach.
