Learn How You Can Apply for a Quad Cities Habitat Home
If you're interested in earning/buying a Habitat house Habitat for Humanity Quad-Cities is looking for families. An application workshop will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Habitat for Humanity Administrative Office at 3625 Mississippi Avenue in Davenport.
The workshop will cover the application process and the qualifications required to be considered for the program. Applications will be available at the workshop, as well as at the administrative office after the workshop.
According to the Quad-City Times, families must have a strong desire to own a home, a stable income of at least $26,000 and willing to work alongside Habitat volunteers to build a home. Partner families earn “sweat equity” performing volunteer hours while working with a mentor throughout the duration of the building process. They also attend classes on home ownership. Families will have the ability to purchase their new home at a reduced rate and 0 percent interest mortgage.
Habitat for Humanity Quad-Cities is a non-profit Christian housing organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing. Habitat works alongside low-income working families to build a stronger foundation for their future. For more information, call Barb at 563-359-9066.
