A Louisiana man was arrested after leading police on a "lengthy pursuit" on Tuesday night before surrendering himself to police. According to the arrest report, he didn't stop his vehicle before “because he wanted to eat his burger that he just purchased.”

The Monroe Police Officer who initially tried to pull over the 2006 Chevy Impala said that the car was driving “with its high beams activated, which made it harder for me to see the roadway when approaching the vehicle.”

When the officer turned on his lights and siren to initiate the stop around 11:10pm, the driver of the Impala did not pull over. Instead, the vehicle "then lead officers on a lengthy pursuit reaching 60 MPH in a posted 25 MPH zone without stopping."

The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Allen Seaberry, ran through “approximately 6 stop signs without making complete stops."

Finally, he pulled up in front of his home in Monroe, Louisianna, and “exited the vehicle holding a hamburger.”

Seaberry was handcuffed and officers read him his rights. When asked, he then told police that he “couldn’t stop due to his brakes being out and because he wanted to eat his burger that he just purchased.”

Allen Seaberry was arrested, booked into jail, and charged with Felony Aggravated Flight. He was also charged with three misdemeanors, including driving without a license and driving an uninsured vehicle. Seaberry was also charged with failure to appear in court for a 2020 battery case.

The arrest report doesn't say where the burger Seaberry purchased was from, but that's the information I came here for. Must be pretty damn good to go to jail for!
