Attention to those commuting in/to Moline tomorrow (Wednesday)! The exit to River Drive in Moline will be temporarily closed on Wednesday due to continued construction on the new I-74 bridge.

In an announcement on social media on Tuesday, officials from the I-74 River Bridge said that there will be another temporary closure due to construction on the new I-74 bridge.

Officials said in the announcement that the River Drive exit in Moline will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure is to allow contractors to move construction equipment and work on I-74 bridge structures.

Overnight closures of River Drive and the off-ramp will also continue through the end of the month according to officials. Those overnight closures of River Drive are between 19th Street and the I-74 on-ramp. River Drive and the off-ramp are closed each night, Monday through Friday morning from approximately 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The purpose for these overnight closures is for contractors working on overhead I-74 structures and demolition of the old I-74 bridge.

Below is information in regards to the overnight closures:

  • Off-ramp CLOSED: The off-ramp from the old Illinois-bound I-74 bridge to River Drive will be closed at the same time River Drive is closed.
  • On-ramp OPEN: Motorists will still be able to access the I-74 on-ramp to Iowa.
Officials also say there will also continue to be daytime lane closures on River Drive between 19th Street and 23rd Street through the end of March, weather permitting.
