Some Quad Citians fortunately haven't been negatively impacted economically during the pandemic, others haven't been so lucky. If you know someone who could use a little help Farmers to Families are distributing free food boxes today and select Fridays in Davenport.

According to the QC Times, anyone in need is welcome to stop by Modern Woodmen Park parking lot at River Drive and South Gaines Street today from 11 am to 4:30 pm for a drive thru food box pick up. You don't need pre-approval or verification, anyone is welcome.

Volunteers will be distributing family-sized boxes of protein, produce and dairy items. Enter the parking lot at the traffic light on River Drive at Western Avenue and stay in your car. The site closes at 4:30 or until supplies run out.

Farmers to Families Food Box program is part of the USDA Coronavirus Food Assistance Program established in 2020. So far the organization has distributed about 20,000 boxes of food to thousands of local families.
