Some very smart people over at Zippia usually create fun rankings of states. They have had the best states to live inthe most fun states, and many others, but they held nothing back with this one. They ranked states based on how attractive they are.

Spoiler alert... Iowa ranked a bit low, and Illinois ranked right in the middle meaning as a whole we here in the QC are pretty average looking.

Looks are important to many. About 64% of Americans said the first thing they notice about someone is how attractive they are.

The Rankings

Iowa ranked number 38 meaning we sadly are in the bottom half of looks. Illinois took home the 21st spot meaning they are looking pretty good! Overall the Quad Cities numbers are looking pretty plain and average. So hey go us!

Now let's look at the most attractive and ugliest states.

The Most Attractive States

1. New Jersey
2. Hawaii
3. California
4. Massachusetts
5. New York

Well hey good for them, must be nice to rank so high on the list...

The Ugliest States

46. South Carolina
47. Arkansas
48. Alabama
49. Missouri
50. Mississippi

Again I didn't make this list so if you disagree take it up with Zippia. Here is how they got their findings.

The Numbers

Now, these results may seem superficial, but there is apparently some science behind them. Zippa stated how they got their info,

We ranked each state in 5 categories:

  • Interest in hair, clothes, and other grooming
  • Obesity rates
  • Percent of residents who are physically active
  • Average Income
  • STD rates

They also shared some other results from their study.

That just begs the question of which states are the most attractive. Well, we’ve got the answer. We found the states where people are the least obese, have high activity levels and don’t have STDs.

How high did your state rank?

Most "Redneck" Towns In The Midwest

Since the popular Youtube channel run by Nick Johnson has made a video about almost every state when it comes to redneck towns we decided to take the number spot from each of those videos and put them in a list of the most redneck towns in the Midwest. In no particular order here are your most redneck towns.
