One of Illinois’ Favorite Ski Parks Opens New Year’s Eve
One of Illinois' favorite ski parks is just a short drive from the Quad Cities and it's opening New Year's Eve.
Snowstar, 9500 126th St W Andalusia, is the Quad Cities only outdoor winter fun park that offers alpine skiing, freestyle terrain park, trained and certified instructors for both alpine skiing and snowboarding. With the recent snow combined with the man-made snow, the ski park is planning a December 31 opening as long as weather permits. And there's a good chance the weather will cooperate.
The ski park also offers the region's only snow tubing hill that features 11 groomed lanes, a warming hut, a portable bathroom, snacks, and beverages. Snowstar also has indoor seating in the Fireside Lounge where you can get a bite to eat and a bevy. They also have a full-service pub and internet lounge, Peaks Tavern.

You can also get cozy in the lodge where you'll find two fireplaces. If it's been a while since you've hit the slopes or if you're a beginner you can take a lesson or two before you ski. Instructors and lessons are available.
