Our Favorite Ornament Pix That You Sent Through the KIIK App

We asked you to use the KIIK 104.9 app to send us a picture of your favorite Christmas ornament. We didn't ask you to tell us why, or anything else. Just send us the picture. As an incentive we said we'd publish some of our favorite ornament pictures in a blog, and one person would win a $50 gas card for sending in a picture.

We'll start with the ornament of the Griswold home from "Christmas Vacation". Teresa Moyer sent it in. It gave me a chuckle and made me smile because one of the Creighton family traditions is watching "Christmas Vacation" on Christmas Eve.

Continuing on the theme that makes you chuckle is this entry from Heather Pearson. Confetti filled ornaments with the saying "I throw F-Bombs like Confetti."

Most everyone remembers an ornament project like this in school or scouts. Anne Orval submitted this perfect example as her favorite ornament. I'm sure she's not the only person who holds a special place in her heart for an ornament like this.

If we were judging any of these photos based on how the photos setting, this submission by Sara would win. The sentiment on the ornament, while slightly sad, is also heartwarming.

Some people told us why the ornament in the picture they sent was their favorite. Like this submission from Carolyn Fowler.

"I bought this ornament in memory of my friend Bev who passed away 12 27 2012. Three days later while I was out Christmas shopping I found this ornament and it reminded me of her.  She hit her ex husband over the head with a frying pan one night when he tried to break into their house and she didn't know who it was."

Cathi Drechsler submitted this as her favorite ornament and in her words, here's why it's her favorite: "This is My Favorite Christmas ornament because my dear friend Kelly made it for me. It has my son's handwriting on it that she took off the last Christmas card that he gave me which was in 2012! Beau passed away in 2013! This is the best Christmas Present I have ever received!"
