Peaceful Protest Held At Vander Veer Park Thursday Night

A peaceful Black Lives Matter protest will be held tonight (Thursday) at Vander Veer Botanical Park in Davenport. The protest will start at 5 pm.

Organizers say protesters are welcome to come  to the park to speak out on racism in the community. They stress the event is a peaceful protest and encourage attendees to social distance and wear masks. Comments on the post indicate children will be present.

According to WQAD, overflow parking is available at St. Ambrose University in lots off  Lombard Street. Participants are asked to avoid blocking driveways and bus stops.
