A local Uber driver that is a member of the Sikh religion alleges he had a gun held to his head by a passenger recently.

WQAD reports that Gurjeet Singh, who wears a turban and beard as part of his religion, picked up a male passenger from a bar in Moline on January 28.

Over the course of the ride, the man asked Singh the question "Do you serve our country or do you serve your country?"

Sigh responded that he serves both countries since he still has family in his home country of India.

According to Singh's lawyer, the man then became violent, telling Singh "I hate turban people" and putting a gun to the driver's head.

An investigation is ongoing, but no charges have been filed against the passenger. Uber is working with the sheriff's department to help the case.
