Quad City Weekend Weather is Perfect for These Activities

The weekend is off to a good start with another day of unseasonably warm weather and sunshine.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, our summer like weather might be coming to an end this weekend, but it's the perfect weather for your yard.

An approaching weather system from the west will bring unsettled weather for the weekend, starting with chances for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms from late this afternoon and into tonight. These shower and storm chances will then last off and on through Sunday. There will also be plenty of dry hours over the weekend. Temperatures will trend cooler Saturday into Sunday.

Hopefully the rain doesn't impact high school and college football game plans you might have. This is perfect weather for getting your lawn in shape for spring

It's the perfect time to plant tulip and daffodil bulbs for a big pop of color in the spring. The rain will give the new plantings a great start to take root this fall.

If you haven't given your lawn it's last weed and fertilizer treatment, the rain we're expecting is perfect for that too.

In case you're wondering, September 2021 featured well above normal temps and well below normal precipitation for all locations. It looks like October comes with above normal temps and precipitation. We could use a little drought relief.
