Her majesty, Queen Elizabeth, has passed away at the age of 96.

Thursday morning, the Royal Family members were notified that the Queen's health had declined, and all rushed to her side at Balmoral Castle, the royal residence in Scotland.

“Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement Thursday morning.

After the announcement from Buckinham Palace, Prince Charles, his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, all arrived at Balmoral to be with her.

The queen was the world's longest-serving monarch and had been said to be suffering from declining health throughout 2022, including “episodic mobility problems.”

On Tuesday, the Queen broke tradition and appointed her 15th prime minister from Balmoral Castle, rather than returning to Buckingham Palace. She was forced to cancel a virtual meeting with senior ministers Thursday after being advised to rest by doctors.
