Reading is considered important for kids of all ages, and it looks like the QCA knows this. This week alone has countless reading opportunities for kids and families throughout the area.

If your kids loved summer reading programs, or maybe you're trying to get your kids to start reading, these events are perfect!

Younger programs

Preschool Storytime - Catch this event on Mondays at Musser Public Library. You can expect Stories, songs, and fun (including something mysterious in Betty’s basket) for ages 2 through 6, approximately. Learn more here.

Baby/ Toddler Storytime - Catch this morning event on Tuesday at Henderson County Public Library at 9:30 AM. Caregivers and their children ages 0-2 are invited to join us for stories, songs, movement, and socialization through play, crafts, and other activities. Learn more here.

 

Preschool Storytime - This takes place after the baby and toddler storytime. Catch this event on Tuesdays at Henderson County Public Library. Caregivers and their children ages 3-5 are invited to join us for stories, songs, movement, and socialization through play, crafts, and other activities. Learn more here.

Preschool Storytime - Another great preschool event. This one is with the Stirling Public Library. Join us for storytime every Monday morning from 10-10:45am. We will sing songs and rhymes, read books, play games, and make a craft. These storytimes are geared toward preschoolers, but all ages are welcome. We will have chairs available for anyone who would like on e, and adults are welcome and encouraged to participate in the songs and rhymes with their children. This new Tuesday session of Preschool Storytime will be the same theme and craft as the Monday Preschool Storyti me, but patrons are welcome to attend both sessions if they would like to. Family Storytime - Witches! - This story event takes place at the LeClaire Community Library - 323 Wisconsin Street. It goes on to state: NEW TIME- 6PM Join Ashe for stories, songs, and fun! Every week has a different theme as well as a simple craft you can take home. This month we're exploring some spoOOooOoky themes! Learn more here.

Homeschool Reading Drop-in - A great event located at Musser Public Library. Designed for homeschool students in kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade to practice fundamental reading skills. Program includes: Phonics lessons, guided reading and fun literacy games and activities played with family and peers. Learn more here.

Library2Go Mobile Library - Schedule for August 8-October 14, 2022. No routes on Monday, Sept. 5 due to library closings. Pick up your library materials closer to home with Library2Go! Running weekly routes throughout the community, Library2Go provides a collection of children’s picture books, juvenile series, adult fiction and nonfiction, and DVDs for checkout on the spot.
