Road Work Will Cause Delays at Quad Cities Busiest Intersection
Just when you thought you were getting used to the increased level of construction around the Quad Cities with the work involved on the new I-74 bridge, a new project is about to deliver a gut punch to Quad Cities drivers.
A sewer replacement project near one of the busiest intersections in all of Iowa will bring more havoc for the next two weeks.
Beginning today, two westbound lanes will be closed between Elmore Avenue and Lorton on 53rd Street in Davenport.
The City of Davenport website states that traffic will be routed into one of the eastbound lanes, which means eastbound traffic will be down to one lane too. Ugh.
The sewer work is in relation to the new Costco being built on the north side of 53rd.
Here's hoping the weather cooperates so the lane herp ups don't last any longer than necessary.
