One of the most amazing places to go growing up was Chuck E. Cheese. First, the pizza. I never met a pizza I didn't like. Second, the games, the ball pit, skee ball. The blinking lights. The noise. It was a larger than life atmosphere. A night club for little kids.

Imagine if you couldn't go as a kid because you didn't do well in crowds, noisy places, or you were bothered by the blinking, twinkling lights from all the machines. It would stink, especially if all your friends were going.

Our news partner Local 4 News reports hat every 1st Sunday of the month Chuck E. Cheese is opening two hours early with dimmed lighting, no music and no mascots walking around. There's also extra staff on hand to make sure everyone is having a good time. It's Sensory Sensitive Sunday. Local 4 News says it's part of a partnership the company has with the Center for Autism and Related Disorders.

One of the restaurant's slogans is Where A Kid Can Be A Kid. I'm glad all kids have the opportunity to experience Chuck E.Cheese growing up! Here's the Chuck E. Cheese site. Click upcoming store events to learn more about  Sensory Sensitive Sunday.
