Sunday Night snow and this morning's road conditions are causing changes in the garbage and yard waste collection schedule for the City of Davenport this week.

According to the City's Facebook page, the City has cancelled garbage and yard waste collection due to road conditions today, Monday November 26. Due to this, trash collection will be one day later than normal this week. Monday's collection will happen Tuesday; Friday's will occur on Saturday.

Yard waste will not be collected at all this week. Yard wastes will be collected without a sticker next week, from December 3 - December 7. Residents may also drop off yard waste at the compost facility without a fee through December 7. Check the facilities hours before you go, because winter hours go into effect Saturday December 1.

The City says ten inches of heavy, wet snow fell in the area yesterday and overnight. A Snow Emergency remains in effect through 5 pm today.

Vehicles parked on posted snow routes during a snow emergency will be ticketed and may be towed or plowed in. Residents and visitors to Downtown may park for free in any one of the City’s three parking ramps through 5 pm, today, Monday, November 26th.
