Gather all who are done with summer and ready for fall because a sure sign that it is here has opened today in Davenport.

The American fall staple known as Spirit Halloween opened its doors today (Monday) for the 2022 spooky season.

It's at 5242 Elmore Avenue in Davenport, next to David's Bridal in the former Rogan's Shoes. They will be open Monday-Friday 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., and Sundays 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

Looking at the window costumes, it looks like they have a few kinds of skeletons (like sexy and neon bodysuit-style) and also Mirabel from "Encanto". We didn't forget about the hold that flick had on us earlier this year. Parents, I know you want to watch that movie again.

Now that MVF is behind us, it's fall time. For those of us who are ready to carve some pumpkins and live in flannels, seeing Spirit Halloween reopen is an encouraging sight. To get you in the "spirit" (I'll show myself out):

Costume Ideas for 2022

Reader's Digest has a few ideas on some pop culture costumes for Halloween 2022, including Maverick and Goose from Top Gun, Emily in Paris, Eleven from "Stranger Things", and homemade "Encanto" or "Hocus Pocus" dresses for the group chat (the making of which is not in my skillset)

I'm undecided on what to be this year but I hate spending money on costumes so it will be built from stuff already in my closet. I'm thinking either Meredith Blake from "The Parent Trap" or the possessed Chrissy from "Stranger Things" (if you have better ideas or already have your costume planned, hit me up on the app chat).
