Starbucks customers are going crazy and accusing employees of hoarding the specialty Starbucks Holiday Bear Mugs that are for sale.

If you thought pumpkin spice season was intense, just wait until you hear about the chaos over Starbucks’ new Teddy Bear Cup. The glass “Bearista” cup, complete with a green beanie and matching straw, hit stores on November 6 for $29.95, and caffeine lovers across the country have lost their minds trying to snag one. Lines formed hours before stores opened, with fans camping out like it was a Taylor Swift ticket sale.

There Are Bear-ly Any Cups Left

Things took a turn when TikTokers started posting videos showing Starbucks and Kroger employees allegedly buying up the limited-edition cups before customers even had a chance. One creator from the Trisha Paytas fan page @trishainsider waited outside a Kroger Starbucks since 2 a.m., only to see workers grab all the cups first. “These Starbucks people are crazy,” another disappointed fan said after waking up early to get one for his fiancée—only to go home empty-handed (and probably in need of more coffee). Some stores even saw customers fighting over the few remaining cups.

Customers Fume While Baristas Defend Themselves

Comments online show fans are ranting: “They shouldn’t allow employees to purchase them. It really defeats the purpose,” one wrote. Another added, “I was first in line, and not one bear was there.”

But others are defending the baristas: “Y’all, don’t get mad at the workers. Starbucks knew these would sell out and only sent a few to each store,” one commenter said.

Starbucks Responds to the Bear Backlash

Even Starbucks admitted they couldn’t “bear” the outrage. “The excitement for our merchandise exceeded even our biggest expectations,” the company said. “We understand many customers were excited about the Bearista cup and apologize for the disappointment.”

So, will there be a restock? Starbucks hasn’t said—but fans are already brewing up hope for a second shot. (I hope you enjoy all these puns)
