The Best Cheeseburger in Iowa has Cheese Curds on It
The website Love Food recently released an article outlining the best cheeseburgers in all 50 states, and the pick for Iowa is from a place I've never heard of before!
According to the site, the Dominie Burger is the very best cheeseburger in Iowa. It's a popular burger served at a place called Dutchfix in Pella, and once you see it, you'll understand why it's number one! The article reads:
"Voted by Des Moines Register as one of the top 10 burgers in Iowa for 2021, The Dominie Burger is a masterpiece of a sandwich. A must-try for fans of Gouda (a hard Dutch cheese), it features two beef patties, bacon, melted Gouda curds, spiced beef, homemade pickles and a toasted bun."
If you think that burger looks good, you should see some of the other food that Dutchfix serves! Their menu includes ten varieties of Poffertjes, which are described as tiny, fluffy pancakes, Frites (thick-cut Dutch fries) loaded with different toppings, gouda mac & cheese, stroopwafel, Pella Bologna-on-a-Stick, Dutch Tacos, ice cream, and more.
Dutchfix is located at 621 Franklin Street in Pella and is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can check out their full menu on the official website HERE.
Speaking of cheeseburgers, voting is now open for the 2023 Best Burger Contest with the Iowa Beef Industry Council! Iowans can nominate their favorite burger joint for the 14th annual competition through Monday, March 13th. Get all the information you need and cast your vote on the website HERE. Last year's winner was The Flying Elbow in Marshalltown.
