The Field of Dreams Movie Site Just Got a Huge Iowa Honor
One of the most famous and iconic sites in all of Iowa was just awarded a huge tourism award at Cedar Falls conference.
Iowa Travel Industry Partners (iTIP), the leading statewide association of the tourism and hospitality industry, held their inaugural iTIP Awards on Monday, June 12th, in Cedar Falls. The Field of Dreams Movie Site in Dyersville walked away with the prestigious Only in Iowa Award."
What is the Only in Iowa Award?
The Only in Iowa Award recognizes a business, organization, or destination that makes the state of Iowa unique, noteworthy, and proud, per a press release issued by Taylor Kellogg, the VP of Marketing at Travel Dubuque.
Anyone from Iowa who has (or even hasn't) visited the baseball field would be hard-pressed to argue against the Field of Dreams Movie Site being worthy of such a distinction.
Who Accepted the Award?:
In attendance to accept awards for Dubuque area winners was Craig Purcell, Manager of Visitor Experiences for the Field of Dreams Movie Site, and Travel Dubuque VP of Community Engagement Carrie Koelker for her honors.
Legislator of the Year was presented to Carrie Koelker, Travel Dubuque VP of Community Engagement, and Senate District 33 for actively supporting legislation that bolsters the economic impact that tourism produces for the state, per press release:
It goes without saying that both the Field of Dreams & Carrie Koelker have made a lasting impression on the tourism industry. Both have been and continue to be vital to the ongoing success of eastern Iowa. - Chelsea Lerud, iTIP executive director
