These Illinois Kohl’s Locations Are Now Closing

A recent story has dropped announcing that 27 Kohl's stores are set to close on Saturday. Fifteen states will be affected, including Illinois locations. The mass closing is only for 'underperforming' locations.

If you head over to the Kohl's webpage of a store closing you'll be met with: "This store will be closing soon. Our last day of business at this location will be Saturday, March 29th."

For fans of the store, good news. Kohl's will still have over 1,120 stores following the closures. Still the 27 will have a big impact on the areas the were in. usatoday went on to report,

The closures come as a part of a transformation that includes C-suite changes, cutting 10% of its corporate workforce and ending Amazon returns in some stores.

The Illinois Closings

While California sees the most closings, Illinois still has two going down this month. The two Kohl's stores closing in Illinois are Plainfield: 11860 S Route 59 and Spring Hill (West Dundee): 3000 Spring Hill Ring Rd. The last year has been a bit lackluster according to reports,

The retailer's sales declined 9.4% in the fourth quarter of 2024 and 7.2% for the year. Kohl's also said that it expects a 2% net decrease in sales for 2025, reported the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, part of the USA TODAY Network.
